4       Declarations of interest

Members were reminded of the need to stand aside from decision-making when a conflict arose between their role as an elected representative and any private or other external interest they might have.

 

Cr Chris Staynes declared an interest in NZ Association of Amateur Radio and Transmitters

 

Crs Stedman and Whiley advised that they had updated their Register of Interest.

That the Committee:

 

a)     Amends the Elected Members' Interest Register attached as Attachment A; and

b)     Amends the proposed management plan for Elected Members' Interests.

Part A Reports

5       Update on the Energy Plan 1.0

 

A report from Community and Planning provided and updated on the activities to deliver actions identified in the city’s Energy Plan 1.0 in 2016/17.

It noted that the greatest progress had been made on actions with strong partner focus, which included the Baseline Energy Study, work to support the uptake of electric vehicles (EVs), and activity to deliver on the objectives of Cosy Homes.

Cr Newell entered the meeting at 1.04 pm.

 

 

The Corporate Policy Manual (Maria Ioannou) and Senior Policy Analyst (Bill Frewen) provided an overview of the report and responded to questions.

 

Cr Lee Vandervis left the meeting at 01:11 pm.

Cr Lee Vandervis returned to the meeting at 01:15 pm.

That the Committee:

 

a)     Notes the update on the Energy Plan 1.0.

6       Dunedin to Host TRENZ 2018

 

A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an overview on the successful application to host TRENZ in May 2018.  It also provided an overview of TRENZ (Tourism Rendezvous  New Zealand) – the most significant international business-to-business travel and trade event on the New Zealand tourism industry calendar.

 

The Business Tourism Events Advisor (Bree Jones) and Destination Dunedin Manager (Ryan Craig) provided an overview of TRENZ and responded to questions from the Committee.

That the Committee:

 

a)     Notes the successful application to host TRENZ in Dunedin in May 2018 and its importance for the city and greater region.
