Statement of Intent for Dunedin City Holdings Limited and its Subsidiaries and Associate Companies
Department: Dunedin City Holdings Ltd
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1 This report accompanies the 2018/2019 Statements of Intent of Dunedin City Holdings Ltd (DCHL) and its subsidiary and associate companies.
That the Council: a) Notes the 2018/2019 Statement of Intent of Dunedin City Holdings Ltd, which was adopted by the DCHL Board on 21 June 2018. b) Notes the 2018/2019 Statements of Intent of subsidiary and associate companies of Dunedin City Holdings Limited, which have been adopted by their respective Boards. c) Notes that Aurora Energy Ltd will complete its 2018/2019 Statement of Intent by 30 September 2018, as required by the Energy Companies Act 1992. |
DISCUSSION
2 Draft 2018/2019 Statements of Intent (SoIs) of DCHL and subsidiary and associate companies were noted by Council on 20 February 2018.
3 DCHL has now completed its SoI and delivered it to Council as shareholder, as required under the Local Government Act 2002.
4 DCHL has also received the completed SoIs of its subsidiary and associate companies, with the exception of Aurora Energy Ltd (Aurora). DCHL has forwarded these SoIs to Council for noting.
5 Aurora prepares its SoIs in accordance with the Energy Companies Act 1992, rather than the Local Government Act 2002. The Energy Companies Act 1992 requires Aurora to provide its completed 2018/2019 SoI by 30 September 2018. In previous years, Aurora has provided draft and completed SoIs earlier than required, and this has aligned with the other subsidiary and associate company timeframes. This has not been possible for the 2018/2019 year due to continued work on Aurora’s Asset Management Plan, for which a time extension was granted by the Commerce Commission.
6 The SoIs of DCHL and subsidiary and associate companies (with the exception of Aurora) will be made publicly available in the first week of July 2018.
