6          Community Arts and Circus Trust – this activity is not a priority for this Grant type, with its focus on developing circus and arts skills.  Further, the application does not meet the criteria for Arts grants.  Staff were asked to work with the Trust to identify other possible funding sources.

12        Dunedin Hindu Temple Society –the Dunedin Hindu Temple Society received a small project grant on 2 August 2019, thereby making it ineligible to receive a Community grant for a 12 month period.  Staff were asked to identify other funding avenues that may assist the Society.

18        North East Valley Community Garden – the provision of a backflow metre was not a priority for this type of grant.  It was recommend that a conversation be held with the land owner (Ministry of Education) about need for this work.

20        Otago University Hockey Club – the Grants Management Policy criteria 3.2 e prohibits the funding of uniforms or costumes.

29        The Oasis of the Good Shepherd’s Rest Trust – the application was retrospective, as the course took place before the Grants Subcommittee’s November meeting.  It therefore does not meet the Grants Management Policy criteria.

31        The Scout Association of New Zealand – the Scouting Association local presence had reduced by a significant level.  Given that staff are operating regionally and providing a low level of local support, a grant in this instance was declined.
