The report from Customer and Regulatory outlined the submissions received during the consultation on the Keeping of Animals (excluding Dogs) and Birds Bylaw.

The General Manager Customer and Regulatory (Claire Austin), Manager Compliance Solutions (Ros MacGill), Team Leader - Compliance, Environmental Health and Alcohol Licencing (Carlo Bell), Environmental Health Officer (Tanya Morrison) and Policy Analyst – Regulatory (Anne Gray) spoke to the report and responded to members’ questions.

a)     Notes the results of the consultation on the review of the Keeping of Animals (excluding Dogs) and Birds Bylaw;

b)        Recommends that Council approves the proposed Keeping of Animals Bylaw with Option One as the recommended option for managing rooster issues.

Option One: Ban keeping of roosters from residential areas unless written permission from Council
