1.1 Public Forum Jennifer Lawn

Jennifer Lawn, from The Halo Project, spoke to the board and gave an update on the Halo Project. |
1.2 Public Forum Melanie Button
|
Melanie Button, a scholarship funding recipient, addressed the board and reported back on the funding she received recently and the event she attended. |

Jill Jackman spoke to the board and presented a petition requesting that Borlases Corner be established as an open space/community garden. |
1.5 Public Forum Caro Timms

Caro Timms, Club Secretary Harbourside Football, spoke to the board regarding their funding application. |
1.6 Public Forum Jacque Ruston
|
Jacque Ruston, spoke to the board regarding a request for part of Centennial Park bordering SH88 to be fenced and the management of the park. |
1.7 Public Forum John Davis

John Davis, from the Aramoana League addressed the board regarding on going issues in Aramoana. |

Confirms the agenda with the addition of consideration of a funding application from Harbourside Football Club.

Members were reminded of the need to stand aside from decision-making when a conflict arose between their role as an elected representative and any private or other external interest they might have.
Wayne Sefton declared an interest in the Dunedin Returned Services Association.

The Board considered an application from the Port Chalmers Foundry Society for $2,000.00towards an art project with schools in the West Harbour to culminate in an exhibition at a gallery in Port Chalmers.

Approves the funding request from the Port Chalmers Foundry Society for $1,919.05 towards the art project with schools in the West Harbour area. Motion carried (WHCB/2023/032) |
6 Funding Application – Harbourside football club |
|
|
The Board considered an application from Harbourside Football Club for $1,404.84 for the replacement of Junior Uniform Replacement. The Board noted that as a result of its previous decision, no money remains in the fund for the 2022/23 financial year. The Board encouraged the applicant to seek funding from another local provider and if that was not successful to reapply for funding in the 2023/24 financial year. |

A report from Civic provided an update on the following issues which included:
· Funding update · Board presentation to Civic Affairs · Change to recycling and rubbish collection day for Ravensbourne and Maia · Consultation open on Logan Park Management Plan · Ratification of submissions |

The Board will discuss its Community Plan 2022-23 and note any changes at a future meeting.

Port Noise Liaison Committee Kristina Goldsmith advised there was no update. Ravensbourne Liaison including Ravensdown Community Liaison Group
Jarrod Hodson advised that Waka Kotahi are seeking feedback from people in the Adderley Street area. He commented that the footpaths on Manapouri and Totara Streets are almost completed.
Keep Dunedin Beautiful
Barbara Anderson advised Keep Dunedin Beautiful met, the Board noted it would be good to put forward a project to recognise former Board Chair, Jan Tucker, and her many years of service to the West Harbour community.
Otago Access Radio
Barbara Anderson provided an update on the topics that she spoke on. She will share the link to the programme.
Aramoana Liaison
Barbara Anderson noted the points raised by the Aramoana League in the public forum.
Infrastructure Liaison
Kristina Goldsmith and Ange McErlane advised there was no update
Long Beach and Pūrākaunui Amenities Society
Duncan Eddy advised that Port Otago donated an AED to the Long Beach Hall. Both groups were encouraged to engage in the Annual Plan submission process.
West Harbour Emergency Response Group
Ange McErlane advised there was no update
Policing Matters
Wayne Sefton commented on policing in the West Harbour area and sought a letter to the Police supporting the retention of a permanent Police presence in West Harbour.
Community Awards and Scholarships
Duncan Eddy and Kristina Goldsmith advised there was no update
Social Media
Duncan Eddy noted a variety of posts had been made on social media on behalf of the board

The Chairperson provided an update on matters of interest which included: · A discussion on matters the Chair will raise to raise at the Civic Affairs Committee on 16 May. · Shared Path update, that there will be an official opening of the Shared Path organised by Waka Kotahi and that the Board could host a community event in Spring. · Centennial Gardens, an approach has been made to relocate the two plaques commemorating the fallen in World Wars from Centennial Gardens to Chalmers Place. Advice will be sought from the Department of Internal Affairs and the Returned Services Association before any further action is taken. · The Board agreed to hold a workshop to discuss the Community Plan on 7 June, which would then be considered at a future board meeting.

Councillor Mandy Mayhem provided an update on matters of interest which included: · The Council hearings and deliberation process on the 2023/24 Annual Plan · Council is beginning a programme of work to prepare for the next 10 year plan · Consultation is underway on the Future Development Strategy · Consultation is also underway on a proposed management plan for Logan Park
