Lucy Wing, Board of Trustees representative, spoke to the Warrington School funding application and responded to questions.

1.2 Foreshore at Karitāne Wharf
|
|
Shelley Gorman, Karitāne residents representative, and Adam Keane, Rūnaka representative addressed the Board regarding the foreshore at Karitāne wharf. Moved (Alasdair Morrison/Cr Jim O'Malley):
That the Board: Extends Public Forum. Motion carried They responded to questions.

A report provided a copy of a project completion form and a funding application for the Board’s consideration and an update on the amount in the Board’s discretionary fund. Warrington School requested $3,000.00 towards refurbishing the pool. |

c) Approves the funding request from Warrington School for $3,000.00 towards refurbishing the pool. d) Notes in the unlikely event of the project not proceeding, the $3,000.00 to be returned.

Board members provided an update on activities. Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Alasdair Morrison advised the new DCC Community Board liaison was yet to be appointed.
Community Engagement Andy Barratt the Board Newsletter had been finalised and was currently being printed.
Cycleways Mark Brown advised formation of the 1.5 metre wide Waitati-Mopanui-Ecosanactuary section of the cycleway had been completed. The group may seek support from the Board regarding next steps.
Keep Dunedin Beautiful Geraldine Tait advised a Keep Dunedin Beautiful meeting would be held 14 August with the awards to be held on 29 August. Geraldine advised the group were working on the change in scope of support from DCC.
Liaison with Funding Applicants Mark Brown had tried to followed up with the Blueskin Youth group regarding the funding received for the handrail. Alasdair to take the lead with this.
Matanaka Drive Replanting Project Mark Brown suggested this be removed from Board updates. However, Alasdair requested it remain to enable follow up with maintenance. Andy advised it wasn’t only the plantings that would be an issue but the wilding pines and whose land it was.
OneCoast Recycling Geraldine Tait advised staff changes were being undertaken.
Truby King Recreation Reserve Management Committee Alasdair Morrison provided an update on the Gingko planting ceremony in honour of the Hiroshima memorial day. Andy Barratt advised work had begun on the implementation plan. The Board considered having a family open day in the summer.
Waikouaiti Main Street Beautification Project Sonya Billyard advised following the hui a working subcommittee had been formed for the project. The subcommittee were working on a concept plan in conjunction with NZTA and Rūnaka. |
