1          Public Forum

Jason Cushen – Chairman, Study Dunedin Advisory Group addressed the meeting on planning being undertaken by Study Dunedin and Enterprise Dunedin in regards to the re-opening of the international education market.

 

2          Apologies

             There was an apology from Cr Doug Hall.

4          Declarations of interest

Members were reminded of the need to stand aside from decision-making when a conflict arose between their role as an elected representative and any private or other external interest they might have.

6          Economic Development Committee Forward Work Programme

 

A report from Corporate Policy provided  the forward work programme for the 2022 year. 

The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin spoke to the report and responded to questions.

7          Study Dunedin Update

 

A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the Enterprise Dunedin and Study Dunedin planning in response to the re-opening of the international education market.

The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Economic Development Advisor, Study Dunedin (Santashree Mitra) spoke to the report and responded to questions.

8          Marketing Update July 2021 to March 2022

 

A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the Enterprise Dunedin’s marketing activity for the period July 2021 to March 2022, along with planned activity for targeting both national and international visitors as international borders re-open.

The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Manager, Visitors Centre (Louise van de Vlierd) spoke to the report and responded to questions.

9          Dunedin Benchmark Comparisons Report March 2022

 

A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the latest Dunedin economic benchmark results compared with a number of other New Zealand cities.

The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Business Analysis Contractor (Benje Patterson) spoke to the report and responded to questions.

10        Items for Consideration by the Chair

 

Cr David Benson-Pope requested an update on the Tertiary Precinct upgrade project.

Cr Jim O’Malley requested that the above update include consideration of the impact the Shaping Future Dunedin Transport Projects.
