1          Public Forum

Jason Cushen – Chairman, Study Dunedin Advisory Group addressed the meeting on planning being undertaken by Study Dunedin and Enterprise Dunedin in regards to the re-opening of the international education market.

2          Apologies

             There was an apology from Cr Doug Hall.

3          Confirmation of agenda
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Cr Rachel Elder): That the Committee: Confirms the agenda without addition or alteration Motion carried

4          Declarations of interest

Members were reminded of the need to stand aside from decision-making when a conflict arose between their role as an elected representative and any private or other external interest they might have.

That the Committee:

a)     Notes the Elected Members' Interest Register; and

b)     Confirms the proposed management plan for Elected Members' Interests.

5.1       Economic Development Committee meeting - 9 February 2022
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Cr Andrew Whiley): That the Committee: Confirms the minutes of the Economic Development Committee meeting held on 09 February 2022 as a correct record. Motion carried (ED/2022/002)

6          Economic Development Committee Forward Work Programme
	A report from Corporate Policy provided  the forward work programme for the 2022 year.  The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin spoke to the report and responded to questions.

7          Study Dunedin Update
	A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the Enterprise Dunedin and Study Dunedin planning in response to the re-opening of the international education market. The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Economic Development Advisor, Study Dunedin (Santashree Mitra) spoke to the report and responded to questions.
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Cr Steve Walker): That the Committee: a)     Notes the Study Dunedin update report. Motion carried

8          Marketing Update July 2021 to March 2022
	A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the Enterprise Dunedin’s marketing activity for the period July 2021 to March 2022, along with planned activity for targeting both national and international visitors as international borders re-open. The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Manager, Visitors Centre (Louise van de Vlierd) spoke to the report and responded to questions.
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Cr Jules Radich): That the Committee: a)     Notes the Marketing Update July 2021 – March 2022 Report. Motion carried

9          Dunedin Benchmark Comparisons Report March 2022
	A report from Enterprise Dunedin provided an update on the latest Dunedin economic benchmark results compared with a number of other New Zealand cities. The Manager, Enterprise Dunedin (John Christie) and the Business Analysis Contractor (Benje Patterson) spoke to the report and responded to questions.
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Cr Steve Walker) That the Committee: Adjourns the meeting. Motion carried The meeting adjourned at 3.25 pm and reconvened at 3.28 pm.
	Moved (Cr Chris Staynes/Deputy Chairperson Andrew Whiley): That the Committee: a)     Notes the March 2022 Dunedin Benchmarking Comparisons Report. Motion carried

10        Items for Consideration by the Chair
	Cr David Benson-Pope requested an update on the Tertiary Precinct upgrade project. Cr Jim O’Malley requested that the above update include consideration of the impact the Shaping Future Dunedin Transport Projects.
