Project Fund - Youth Scholarship Award 2026-2026

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

1          This report is to provide information on Youth Scholarship Fund. As this is an administrative report only, the Summary of Considerations is not required.

2          The balance in the Project Fund available for allocation for the current financial year (2025/2026) is $1,000 for the Board’s annual Youth Scholarship Award. 

RECOMMENDATIONS

That the Board:

a)         Considers the finalists to the 2025-2026 Otago Peninsula Community Board Youth Scholarship Award.

b)        Awards the 2025-2026 Otago Peninsula Community Board Youth Scholarship Award to

BACKGROUND

Youth Scholarship Award recipients from the 2024-2025 year

3          Esme Blaker and Liesel Tolson the award recipients for the 2024-2025 year will be in attendance          to speak to their use of the scholarship funds.

Youth Scholarship applications 2025-26

4          Nine scholarships were received and considered by the Board at the 2 June 2026 meeting.

5          Four applicants advanced as finalists:

·    Anika Biggin

·    Ciara Coffey

·    Alexander Hattrell

·    Samuel Moore

6          The four finalists will be in attendance at the meeting to speak to their individual applications and respond to questions from the Board.

7          Information was circulated to the finalists on the format for the 16 June meeting (see Attachment A)
